Always a highlight of the Leeds Carnival, the 50th anniversary King & Queen Show is finally here, taking place Friday evening at a sold out West Yorkshire Playhouse.

The stakes have never been higher as a host of incredible costumes from across the country compete to be Leeds Carnival King & Queen 2017, taking their place in the history books as the victors in our 50th year.

The stunning Carnival Choir will be performing, as will world-renowned soca artist Edwin Yearwood thanks to the support of Leeds 2023.

We are also very excited to announce two new partners for this year’s event. Makeup is obviously a huge part of Carnival, therefore we are incredibly excited to announce Illamasqua as our official makeup partner for the event. The British makeup brand are known around the world and have been involved with our preparations for this special Carnival throughout the year, supporting our reveal photoshoot at Tropical World earlier this year.

Fittingly, Leeds institution The Queens hotel has joined us as the official hotel partner for the King & Queen Show. Aside from having a name entirely appropriate for the event, The Queens is synonymous with the city, and was the perfect choice to partner with for the event.

If you missed out on tickets for the show, you can watch it live via live streams at both Leeds West Indian Centre in Chapeltown and Millennium Square in the City Centre.
